Armour,
Robin J. Fisher, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on
Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh.
She was 51. Daughter of Jenne V. Bogert Armour and the late John F. Armour,
she was born September 24, 1956 in Newburgh. She married Frank L. Fisher on
May 12, 1990 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Newburgh; who survives at home.
Robin was a 1975 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and attended Orange
County Community College. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in
Newburgh, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, and
worked as a Department Manager for Wal-Mart in Newburgh. In addition to her
loving husband, Frank, she is survived by her brother, Stuart Armour of
Yokosuka, Japan; brother-in-law Russell Hammond of Schenectady NY;
sister-in-law, Claudia Giffen and her husband, John of Rochester, NY; nieces
Cindy Giffen of Madison, WI and Julie Giffen of Rochester, NY; and numerous
cousins. Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday
June 27, at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh NY 12550. Cremation
will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. A Memorial Service will
be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the funeral home with Rev.
Richard Spierling officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in Orange
County Veteran's Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, contributions in

Dwight D. 56 of Newburgh, NY passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014. The son
of Lilliam Harris and S.T. Bell Jr., Wane was born on August 31, 1957. He
was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy; he also attended O.C.C.C.,
studying Business. He was employed at Letchworth Village as a Caseworker
and at West Point Cadet Mess Hall. Dwight was president of Hasbrouck and
West Parmenter Block Assoc. Dwight had a long history of positive service,
commitment, and love for people. He began as one of the first youth at
Newburgh's Mt. Carmel Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ on Colden St.

Cornwall, NY. He was a lieutenant in the New York City Fire Dept from
1982-1997. He is survived by wife of 16 yrs, Darlene, and 3 daughters,
Rebecca, Katherine and Amanda. He was the son of the late Thomas W. Berg
III and Nancy Berg of Marietta, GA. He is survived by four sisters,

Donna Clark 48, passed away on March 14, 2006 at Albert Einstein Medical
Center, Philadelphia, Pa. Donna was born in Maryland on May 22, 1957 to
Gorham Bill Blair and Doris Blair. At the age of four, she moved to
Newburgh, N.Y. with her mother and sister. Kim (Blair) Correa. They joined
Ebenezer Baptist Church and became longstanding members. Donna graduated
from Newburgh Free Academy in 1975 and eventually moved to Philadelphia,
Pa., where she met and married Kenny Clark. Donna had a career as a Dental
Hygienist and was employed at Albert Einstein Medical Center for many
years. She is survived by her husband; three sons: Larry Royal of Alaska,
Corey Pittman of Pennsylvania and Kenny Clark of Pennsylvania; her sister,
Kim Correa of Massachusetts; her aunts, Delores Blair-Pierre and Barbara
Gray of Maryland; her godmother, Annie Thompson of New York, and a host of
relatives and friends. Calling hours will be held on March 20, 2006 at 9
a.m. with funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. at the Triumph Baptist
Church, 1538 West Wingohocking St., Philadelphia, Pa. Interment will be

50 yrs. old born September 13, 1957 in New York City, died Wednesday March
19, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the
son of the late William West and Helen Wood Campbell and lived in Newburgh
for 41 years. Phillip was a shipping and receiving clerk for the GAP in
Fishkill, NY. He was a member of Best Temple Church of God in Christ in
Newburgh. He played the trumpet in the church's band. Phillip served his
country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. Phillip was a 1975
graduate of NFA. He is survived by sons, Julian and Jarrett; brothers,
Calvin, Dallas and Keith all of Newburgh, NY, Thomas Wood and wife Judy of
Columbus, Ohio and Otis Campbell of Columbia, Missouri; Sisters Ellen
Campbell of Brooklyn, and Priscilla Campbell of Miami, Fl.; an Aunt Thelma

Gallagher,
Eugene Patrick Jr. born in Cornwall and longtime resident of Newburgh,
passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital,
Cornwall Campus. He was 54. Known as Paddy by most, Eugene was a graduate
of SUNY New Paltz and worked as a Production Technician for Cablevision,
Wappinger Falls, for 25 years. Paddy was a brilliant artist who enjoyed
painting landscapes and portraits. He was also a history buff and a loyal
Yankee and Giant fan. Paddy had a very special relationship with his dog,
Toby. He was also a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh. He is
survived by his beloved mother, Mary Ann Pentony Gallagher; sisters, Mary
Alice Roberts and her husband, Thomas, Jo-Ann Kroner and her husband,
Gregg; daughters, Rachel and Sandra. Paddy loved his family and had a very
special relationship with nieces, Tara Roberts-Goldman and her husband,
Jonathan, Colleen Bardi and her husband, Joseph; nephew, Thomas Roberts
and Bridgette Muller. Paddy also had many loving cousins who reside in
Highland Falls and Newburgh, as well as beloved family in Nr. Ireland and

Glover,
Harold R. age 54 passed away peacefully Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Mid
Coast Hospital, Bath, ME with his loving family by his side. He was born
on May 19, 1957, the son of James and Catherine Glover (Nee: Donahue), the
5th of 9 children, in Highland Falls, NY. Hal grew up and was educated in
the New York area. After High School he served in the Navy from 1975-1982.
He has worked for the Federal Government, for 35 years, as a Production
Controller in SUPSHIP Brooklyn and SUPSHIP Bath until his death. Hal loved
to read, was a history buff, Loved his Yankees, the theatre, music,
especially the Beatles and wrote poetry. While working at SUPSHIP Brooklyn
he met his soul mate, Ann Lemmerman and was married on Sept. 2, 1989. In
1991 he was offered a position at SUPSHIP Bath and Hal, Ann and baby
Lizzie moved up to Bath. Then low-and-behold their son Tom was born in
1993. Hal was always active in the Community and his Church. He was an
active member in the Knights of Columbus, a past Union President and
active shop steward for AFGE local at his place of work. His biggest
care/concern was taking care of people in need. That’s why Hal was
involved, for many years in the Bath Area Food Bank. He currently was the
“Chair” person for the Food Bank and represented St. Mary’s Church. He is
survived by his wife Ann of Bath, a daughter Elizabeth Glover of Boston,
MA and a son Thomas Glover of Bath, ME, his mother, Catherine Glover of
Newburgh, NY, 4 brothers; Patrick Glover, Newburgh, NY, Michael Glover and
wife Maria, Newburgh, NY, William Glover and wife Christine of
Philadelphia, PA, Joseph Glover and wife Anne of Fort Wayne, IN, and 3
sisters; Joan Hutlock and husband James of Newburgh, NY, Margaret Glover
of Newburgh, NY and MaryAnn Olympia and husband Scott of Newburgh, NY. And
many nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, dad, son and brother and

Mary Ann Wood, died at home in Upland, Calif. on Wednesday, June 14, 2006
after a long battle with cancer. Daughter of Edward T. and Mary A. Grant
of New Windsor, Mary Ann was born on June 3, 1957. Surviving, besides her
parents, are two sons, John Michael and Kevin; one daughter, Lisa, all of
Upland, Calif.; one brother, Edward Grant of Etlan, Va.; three nephews,
Justin, Evan, and Nathan Grant of Etlan, Va. She also leaves aunts,
uncles, and cousins. Mary Ann was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. where she was a
past member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society, as well as having provided
domestic assistance. She also belonged to the Nu-Voice club, a subchapter
of the American Cancer Society. Mass will be held for Mary Ann at Our Lady
of Mount Carmel Church, 10079 8th Street in Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday,
June 27, 2006 at 10 a.m. Flowers or donations in the memory of Mary Ann

Kim Wood .... Based on Kim's father obituary listing Kim. Gerald "Jerry"
D. Hopper, of Newburgh, entered into rest Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at
Fishkill Health Related Facility, Fishkill. He was 71. Son of the late
Raymond and Nellie DeWitt Hopper, he was born February 13, 1935 in
Newburgh. Gerald operated the Hopper Auto Body Shop along with his
brothers, which his father started. Afterwards, he ran the business by
himself for 20 years. He loved fishing and his dogs. He is survived by his
loving wife, Winifred Hopper, at home; a son, Gerald Raymond Hopper of
Michigan; a daughter, Debra Ann Hopper at home; a brother, Robert Hopper
of Florida; a sister, Marion Deal of Florida; two grandchildren, Shane
Semmens and Dillion Wood; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends. Gerald was predeceased by a daughter, Kim Wood; a sister,
Muriel Barrett; and three brothers: Raymond, Donald and William Hopper.

Clifton "Jerry" of Killeen, Texas, a sergeant first class and
combat engineer with the 12th Bravo HHD 70th Company, Fort Hood,
and a former resident of Newburgh, N.Y., died Friday, Aug. 8, in
Killeen. He was 41. The son of Geraldine Williams Howard and the
late Herman Howard Sr., he was born May 24, 1956, in Clinton,
N.C. He was a 1975 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and served
active duty for 22 years. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal
with two oak leaf clusters; Army Service Ribbon; Army Achievement
Medal with two oak leaf clusters; Overseas Service Ribbon with two
oak leaf clusters; Army Service Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal
(7th award); Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi); Kuwait Liberation
Medal (Kuwait); Southwest Asia Service Medal; National Defense
Service Medal; and M16 Rifle Marksman. In addition to his
mother of Newburgh, survivors include his wife, Vlanca E. Howard,
at home; one son, Jerry Clifton Howard II of Killeen; one daughter,
Nicole Jasmine Howard of Killeen; one brother, Herman Howard Jr. of
Newburgh, N.Y.; three sisters, Michele Diggs, Shelia Powell and

Santo John a former computer programmer for NBC in New York City and a
lifetime area resident, entered into rest Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at St.
Luke's Hospital. Son of Anna Jannotti and the late Santo Jannotti, he
was born April 18, 1957 in New York, NY. John was a parishioner of
Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. He was truly talented in customizing
motorcycles, which he showed at the Jacob Javitz Center in New York
City. He was also an avid snake handler and breeder. Survivors include
his mother, Anna Jannotti of Newburgh; his cousin, Frank Terrasi; and
several other cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from
9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 5, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney
Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
on Friday following visitation in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial

together at St. Francis of Assisi Church. He was a great guy then and I
can only imagine that carried over into adulthood. He parents were very

Koss, Donald Robert age 54 of Hattiesburg, MS passed away Monday, May
14, 2012, funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012, at 3:00 PM
at Resurrection Life Worship Center, Picayune, MS; Rev. Allen Hickman
will officiate. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery. Don was born
in Albany, New York on August 16, 1957 and lived in Castleton-on-Hudson
and Newburgh, New York. In his youth he was active in Pop Warner Little
League and Boy Scouts. In 1975 he graduated from Newburgh Free Academy.
He attended William Carey College and the University of Maryland Fire
Training Academy. A resident of Hattiesburg, he was a firefighter and
battalion chief, retired from the Hattiesburg Fire Department.
Recognized in 1986 as Fireman of the Year by Insurance Women of
Hattiesburg and in 1991 as Outstanding Young Firefighter by the
Hattiesburg Jaycees, Don was a certified smoke diver. At the time of his
death, he was Curriculum Coordinator and Public Relations Officer for
the Mississippi State Fire Academy in Jackson, where he also served as
an instructor. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold J. Koss,
his godparents, Louise Sylvester and Donald Terry, and numerous aunts
and uncles including Lorraine Van De Wal, Arthur Kuhns, Harley
Sylvester, Lillian Terry, Herb and Marion Schmidt, Walter and Kay Koss
and cousin Mike Reilly. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Forbes Koss,
his daughter, Donielle Koss, his grandson, Jaydon Koss, his mother,
Muriel Kuhns Koss, his sister, Leann Koss West, his nephew Adam M. West
and wife Amanda, his uncle Charles Van De Wal, his aunt Elizabeth

Fred of Newburgh; three grandchildren: Kayla Lamb, Tyrell Lamb and
Elijah Lamb. Additional survivors include dearest nieces: Irene
Faircloth, Olar Walker and Verneica Walker; dearest nephews, Billy Lamb
and Markell Herring and three special friends: Mack, Tone and Scorpio.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Larry "Munchie" Monroe.

Church Of Christ Disciples Of Christ Church, 1524 Route 300 North,
Newburgh. Services will be at 7 p.m. in the church. Dr.Thermond Herring

Paul J. of New Windsor, NY, age 55, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012
at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, NY. Paul fought a long and
brave fight during his extended illness. He was born in Newburgh on
February 11, 1957 to William and Margaret (Long) Mott. Paul was a long
time employee of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District and prior to
that worked at Tarkett Flooring in New Windsor. He was a proud 35 year
member of the New Windsor Fire Department. His current position was as an
elected Fire Commissioner. He held the position of Assistant Fire Chief in
the past. He also previously was a member of the Newburgh Ambulance Corp.
Paul thoroughly believed in community service. He was a police scanner
enthusiast and programmed scanners for other enthusiasts. Paul's mister
fix-it skills and willingness to help others will be sorely missed. Paul
didn't subscribe to the theory of political correctness and was well known
for being politically incorrect without apology. He loved, and was deeply
loved by, his family and many friends. Paul is survived by his wife, Lori;
children, Tyler and Dana at home; two brothers, James of Summerfield, FL,
Robert and his wife, Mary of Newburgh; sister, Pamela of Accord, NY;
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and
Margaret (Peggy) Mott; niece, Maegan Dukes. The family wishes to thank Dr.
Fauzia Paracha and staff, Dr. Stephen Shapiro, the staff of St. Luke's
Cornwall Hospital Newburgh Campus, New Windsor Ambulance Corp, New Windsor
Fire Department members and the many friends that have supported our
family during Paul's illness. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 26 from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hudson Valley Funeral Home, 239 Quassaick
Ave., New Windsor. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 27 at 11
a.m. at the Hudson Valley Funeral Home with graveside services to follow

Anne of Town of Newburgh, N.Y. owner/operator of the Cuts Hair Salon in
Middlehope, entered into rest March 21, 2005 at home. She was 47. Born June
20, 1957 in Newburgh, NY, she was the daughter of James and Anna Mae
Stvtecki Quintiliani. She was a member of St. Francis Church and Storm King
Arts Center. A family statement read: "Annie was loved by all and would
light up the room with her smile and laughter. She will be greatly missed by
her family and many friends and clients. Survivors include her parents of
Palm Coast, FL; one brother, James Quintiliani of Bunell, FL; two sisters:

Salomatoff, Vladimir Jr., 51 years old, of Redland, FL, passed away on
March 24, 2008. Vladimir was a beloved father, husband, son and brother.
He was a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of
dedicated service. He felt it was his duty to protect our nation and our
families. Upon completion of his military service, Sal's passion and
career centered around computer networks. He is survived by his wife,

Schoonmaker, Lynda S. Giammarco, 51, of Valatie, NY, died Tuesday, July 7,
2009 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Lynda was born in Newburgh, NY to the
late John and Jacqueline Schoonmaker. Lynda was a registered nurse and
worked for 27 years at the Sylcox Nursing Home in Newburgh, now known as
Elant Nursing Home. Most recently she worked as a nurse for the Ichabod
Crane Central School District. Lynda was a Girl Scout leader, and an avid
collector of bells and Annalee Dolls. Most of all, she was a devoted wife,
mother, sister, aunt and friend. Lynda will be greatly missed by all who
knew her. Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Giammarco of
Valatie, NY; sons, Paul and Seth Giammarco; daughter, Jill Giammarco;
sisters, Donna (Edward) Dorsey of East Greenbush and Kendra (Jerry) Brown
of Depew; brothers-in-law: Fred Giammarco of Newburgh, Marc (Alice Hall)
Giammarco of Cornwall, and Patrick (Lori) Giammarco of Wallkill;

Sholes,
Cheryl Martin of Longmont, Colo., died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the
Hospice Care Center of Boulder and Broomfield Counties). She had a battle
with breast cancer for four years in which she showed unbelievable
courage, character, and a very positive attitude. Cheryl was born in
Newburgh, NY to Robert and Delores Sholes on October 8, 1957. She
graduated from NFA High School and Mount Saint Mary's College both in
Newburgh, NY. She lived in Orange County, NY until 15 years ago when she
moved to Longmont with her husband Tom and daughter Tara. Cheryl worked at
IBM for 22 years in Hawthorne, NY where she met her husband Tom, Sterling
Forest, NY, and Boulder, CO. Cheryl had been married to Tom Martin
(originally from Yonkers, NY) for the past 22 years. She was a wonderful
wife, mother, and friend who loved to spend time with family and close
friends She is survived by her husband Tom and two children Tara and
Connor; her brother Robert Sholes & wife Vickie of Circleville, NY; 8
nieces and nephews; and 9 great nieces and nephews. The Martin family
would like to thank friends, family, neighbors and IBM business associates
for all of their support during Cheryl's illness - especially to the
Storaci and Cook families and also neighbors & friends who helped with
meals & transportation for Connor. A memorial service will be held on

Life Insurance Company, Newburgh, died Friday, December 6, 2002, at
Cornwall Campus of the St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall. She was 45.
The daughter of the late O'Conney Spellman Thornton, Sr. and Ernestine
Hill Thornton, she was born May 22, 1957, in Cornwall. Survivors include
four sons, Joseph Milton Wood, Samuel Spellman Wood, Christopher Michael
Wood and Matthew Jonathan King Wood; one daughter, Melissa Ruth Wood, all
of Newburgh; two brothers, Edward Hill of Newburgh and O'Conney Spellman
Thornton, Jr., of Kansas City, Missouri; one grandson, Josiah Barone Wood
of Queens, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2002 in
the Chapel of Rhodes Funeral Home, 259 Walsh Avenue, New Windsor. A
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the St. Mary's Catholic
Church, 180 South Street, Newburgh by Father William Scafidi. Burial will

Kenneth Bertram Jr. of the Hamlet of Wallkill, a mason for Local 5,
Poughkeepsie, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Fordham University, the
Bronx. He was 42. The son of Kenneth and Ann Cerone Woodruff, he was
born June 17, 1957, in Newburgh. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force,
having served in 1975 and 1976. Survivors include his wife, Patricia
Pellegraino Woodruff, at home; one daughter, Sarah Woodruff, at home;
two sons, Kenneth Woodruff and Kevin Woodruff of San Diego, Calif; one
brother, Richard Woodruff of Walden; two sisters, Linda Van Alstine of
Maui, Hawaii and Kathy Grossi of Pine Bush; and several nieces, nephews
and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Toni Disco. There will be
no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March
15, at Newhurley Reformed Church, Wallkill. Pastor Ken Kobza will
officiate. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu
